I saw this tag on Louise (Sprinkle of Glitter)’s blog and thought it was really interesting, quite shocking and definitely one I had to do for myself!
This tag, as you can tell by the title is called “How Much Is Your Face Worth?”
Basically, you list the products you have on your face for any FOTD (Face Of The Day), put their cost alongside and then total it. Although you will only be using a small amount of most beauty items and are pretty unlikely to use a whole bottle of foundation in one go, you use the total cost of the product. (Them’s the rules people!)
For this, I decided to use my ‘Everyday Face’, i.e. the make-up products I use on a daily basis.
For a long time, I wore very little make-up, keeping it very neutral and almost to a point where people didn’t realise I was even wearing any, as I didn’t have the confidence to wear anything more daring. However, I was in need of a confidence boost post-discovery-of-my-dodgy-womb, and decided to experiment at home, away from prying eyes, and since then have started wearing more make-up. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t plaster it on with a trowel, but I do make a definite effort each day to look half decent! For me, make-up now is a real safety net and I’m not sure how I used to wear so little! It’s almost like a mask; no matter what’s happening, I put my ‘face’ on and go out and take on the world!
So, here’s how much my ‘Everyday Face’ is worth…
I’m actually quite shocked! As somebody who doesn’t buy ‘luxury’ or ‘premium’ brands, I didn’t think the total sum would come to over £100!
Having looked at the overall cost of my ‘Everyday Face’, would I change any of the products I use? I don’t think I’ll be changing the majority of these products, as they work for me, my skin type and my skin tone too, however, when my Brow Zings runs out, I’ll probably opt for a cheaper version. I’ll also definitely be using cheaper eyeshadows, although I know I’ll notice a difference as I do find this Dior eyeshadow (in my opinion) is better quality than some of the cheaper options available, plus it stays on all day without needing to re-apply.
The one item on this list that I can 100% say I won’t be changing or getting rid of is my Benefit High Beam – this product is literally my MOST favourite thing in my make-up bag, I absolutely ADORE it and there is no way I would ever be able to set foot outside my front door without it! (Maybe a small exaggeration there, but you know what I mean…)
I’d love to know how much your ‘Everyday Face’ is worth, so please leave your comment below (along with a link to your blog page if you decide to do this tag) and I’ll be sure to take a look!
