Do you ever just sit there, lost in thought, imagining all the things you would do if you won the lottery? If you didn’t have to work and money wasn’t an object?
I have. In fact, I’ve been thinking about it for years and, honestly, my dreams have remained the same for so long that I think they’re pretty much set in stone.
As well as my previously mentioned ‘make my family financially stable’ and ‘see the world’, one unshakeable dream I’ve had for the longest time is building our own house. To buy a house is all well and good, but to be able to build one that you have created in your mind and can make into a reality just seems so magical!
Homewares lovers, prepare yourselves, I have got a brilliant new find to introduce you to!
A totally new discovery for me, Rooi.com is the perfect website for anyone that – like me – eats, sleeps and breathes anything for the home and garden.
Do you ever get an idea in your head and no matter what you do your brain keeps on returning to it? That is me right now with thinking about my dining table. In fact, if Ben got £1.00 for every time I said “dining table” to him in the last few weeks, he’d probably have enough money to emigrate and get away from me incessantly banging on about it.
Never mind the fact our bedroom still needs the final few details put in place, or that we’re in the middle of a major overhaul of the back garden. Never mind that the stairs and landing need re-plastering and painting, no, my brain is already thinking about the next few jobs to add to the list, namely decorating the spare room and sorting out the dining area.
Homewares. Oh, Homewares, how I love you.
Whether it’s looking for accessories to add character to a room, bedding to make our little sleep nest more cosy, or glassware and crockery to make dining a little bit more special, I am ALL OVER IT.
However, having lived in flats for the majority of my time since moving out of my parents’, I’ve never paid much attention to bits and pieces for the garden as they were something I had no need for. But all that has changed and now and, as I undertake a complete garden makeover, my mind is well and truly focussed on the outdoors.
Being in rented accommodation, as I’ve said before, we don’t want to spend too much money on anything that will be left behind, but we plan to be in our house for a good few years to come (all being well) and so I think a little bit of expenditure is a good investment.
My love for my pets is no secret. My Instagram feed is full of pictures of them and whenever I get the chance, I’ll talk to people about them. They’re my favourite things in the world and I love them more than I can put into words.
But, with summer coming and the temperatures rising, the past week or so I’ve really noticed an increase in the amount of fur they’re shedding as they lose their winter coats, and I’m now fighting my annual battle to keep my house as un-fluffy as possible!
Having 3 animals, people often ask me how I keep on top of cleanliness, and having had pets of my own for over 10-years now, I thought I’d share some of my top tips for keeping a clean house with pets.
