There has been a lot going on in my life recently. Actually, there’s been a lot going on in my life for the past 2 years or so – I feel like I need my very own cliff-hanger score, like the duff-duff-duffs at the end of Eastenders. Sometimes it has felt like I’ve been stumbling from one stress to the next, with barely a moment to breathe inbetween, but through it all I’ve had one constant (well, four, if you count the animals) – my Ben. Throughout the worries, the illnesses, the tears, the raging anger, the bed-rest and rehabilitation, he’s been there for me every single step of the way, never faltering in his support of me.
I’ve always considered myself a very independent person, never relying on anyone other than myself, but just recently whilst I was signed off sick I was dealing with something particularly horrible and after spending an entire day in meltdown, I realised my heart and mind only stilled when he walked in the door. I guess this is what people mean when they say someone is their ‘rock’ – something I’ve never understood before. Having someone to call home rather than somewhere is something entirely new to me, but it’s pretty special and I will always be grateful to him for loving me.
Don’t worry, this post isn’t a schmooze-fest of love declarations – in fact, I want to talk to you about some items that I was sent for Ben, kind courtesy of Samuel Windsor.
I had a vague awareness of this brand prior to them contacting me but I hadn’t actually bought anything from them before, however, we’re definitely going to be regular visitors of theirs from now on because we’re both so impressed – and Ben is notoriously hard to please when it comes to clothes!
We were very kindly given a voucher which Ben could spend on whatever he liked on the website, something that proved difficult as they had so many lovely items available. In the end he settled for something he needed anyway – a shirt and shoes for work.
Ben gets through shoes like nobody I have ever known in my life – I don’t know what he does, but he needs to buy new ones every few months. There were lots of really nice ones on the website, but he went for a safe bet with the black Classic City Shoe – selling at just 35% of the average High Street price! An absolute bargain!
The shoes themselves are really good quality, look really good and, so I’m told, are really comfortable too – can’t complain about that can you?
When choosing the shirt, he went for the one that I would have said is the most “him” – blue and checked. I feel like he wears blue a lot! This was price at 60% of the High Street price – again, really good and it’s such great quality that he’s said he will definitely be buying more shirts from them in the future! The seal of approval from Ben means they must be good!
Sometimes I think that the current pricing of some stores makes items like work shirts – something you use most days but don’t want to be spending all your money on (you want to save that for the fun stuff, right?) – a little bit of a kick in the teeth to buy. Spending £40+ on a shirt when you need five of them to get through a working week really begins to add up, so to find somewhere that is selling great quality items for a lot less than the usual retail price is really refreshing!
It also looks pretty good dressed down with jeans and no tie; ideal for a night out with friends when you need to be a little more dressy, or for a casual Friday in the office. (Nobody judge us for the length of the grass in the background please, I did my best at cropping it out!)
A massive thank you Samuel Windsor for sending us over these items – we’re so impressed and you’ve got yourself a new regular customer here for sure!
If this sounds like a little bit of you, or you’re in the market for some good quality (but low priced) new clothes, check out the Samuel Windsor website, or find them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
