A few weeks ago, I very excitedly told you all about the new HomeSense store opening in Essex (Chelmsford to be specific) and said that I would be popping down there to have a nose around when I had a moment to spare.
Well, the glorious day arrived that we had a space in our seemingly ever-full diary, and we hopped in the car prepped and ready for some serious homewares action.
The store itself is located on the Riverside retail park which is pretty central for town but just far enough out that you don’t have to compete with the town centre shoppers for parking spaces. That said, if you ever are in Chelmsford town centre, a short walk down the riverside path will have you reaching the retail park too, so on a sunny day it’s worth a stroll over there.
Now, as someone with a love for anything I can feather my nest with, HomeSense is basically pure perfection. Top to bottom, left to right, it’s like walking into Ariel’s secret grotto of knick-knacks and I truly believe that there has to be something for everyone in there – the range is so wide ranging and eclectic!
I was lucky enough to gifted some vouchers by HomeSense to have a little spend up, and as we have recently been putting the final touches to our main bedroom, I went in there with a firm idea in my head of what I was looking for – copper toned accessories.
Whether you’re looking for ornaments, kitchenwares, paintings, clocks, pet supplies, garden décor, furniture, soft furnishings or even artisan style food and drink, I’m sure you’d be hard pushed to walk out of Homesense without finding something you like!
I loved this ballerina statue!
Any painting of a cow is always a winner for me!
I’ve made a little video of our jaunt around the store which you can view by clicking here or on the image below, plus if you take a look at my Instagram page there’s a bonus little mini-video on there too (I am so good to you, you lucky things!)
For those of you that are wondering what I bought, cast your eyes over the beauties below – our bedroom is going to look amazing when it’s finished!
I have literally no idea what I’m going to keep in this but it was too beautiful for me to leave behind!
These hooks are perfect for hanging our dressing gowns on the back of the bedroom door.
We needed a new laundry basket, and the muted creams and browns in this work really well with the colour scheme of the bedroom, plus it’s the perfect size to fit in the gap down the side of the wardrobe!
Not copper, and not for the bedroom, but we wanted some nice salt and pepper grinders, and this stainless steel and wood set will go well in our kitchen/diner with it’s stainless steel and glass detailing, and cookie-coloured walls.
If you’ve got a HomeSense near you, I definitely recommend you pop in and take a look around. I couldn’t be happier with the bits I brought home with me – now I’m just waiting for the day they launch an online store; my Bank Manager might not be so happy though…
