Happy Monday everyone!
I’m not really sure where last week went. During the week when I’m sat at work it feels like time is moving backwards, then somehow it gets to the time for me to write this weekly post and I’m left wondering what I did with myself in the previous 7 days…
Wilf went in for his operation last Monday. Unfortunately, he has such a strong case of the disease both cats have inherited that he’s now had all his teeth removed except for his canines and his dinky little front teeth, so he’s basically all gums now. As sad as this sounds, he’s having absolutely no problems eating and you wouldn’t know he was missing his molars at all!
While he was at the vets, Poppy and Devon spent the day dozing. Where he had toothache before the op, Wilf spent a lot of time upstairs on his own, sleeping on my bed, so I don’t think they really noticed that he was missing for the day. At least if they did, they didn’t make too much fuss about it!
After his op he seemed absolutely fine, but I built him a little blanket fort anyway, because who doesn’t love a fort, right? He spent the entire night in there getting some much needed peace and quiet while he got over the anaesthetic.
On Saturday we took him back for his check-up and the vet said he’s healed perfectly and there are no issues – he also said it’s probably a good thing he’s had all his main teeth removed as they’re the ones the disease tends to attack so, in theory, we shouldn’t have to worry about any flare ups in the future.
I saw this quote online the other day and it couldn’t be more true. Have you watched Making A Murderer yet? We watched it over Christmas and I don’t think a day has gone by that I haven’t thought about it. I honestly don’t know what I believe – in fact, I don’t think I actually have an opinion – the whole thing is so complicated and there seems to be so much deceit that it’s hard to know what’s true. Now it’s garnering a lot of publicity I’ll be interested to see what happens next.
I’m not a fan of red wine and have always avoided it, preferring to go without than have a glass, but after the praises of Chateauneuf-du-Pape being sung by a good friend of mine, Tim of Vinyl Clocks, when we saw this for sale in Aldi we decided to buy a bottle. The result? I’m converted. It’s such a nice wine and not too heavy, so I think it’s going to be a good gateway to open my tastebuds and introduce them to the world of red vino.
My sister’s dog decided to snuggle up with a tangerine the other day… odd.
In other news, there are two big things going on for me today – firstly, our new living room furniture is arriving which I am VERY excited about. I’m bubbling with anticipation about building a home with Ben and getting this furniture in is the first big step. And secondly, I have my appointment with the doctor about the return of my recurrent migraines. I’m interested to see what he says, so will let you all know.
Have a great week everyone!
