On my (endless) To Do list for later this year is to try to arrange an Essex Bloggers meet up. We’ve done a few of these over the years and they’re always great fun, so the plan is to put together a little Christmas celebration for us all.
Essex itself is quite large and has various different train lines servicing it, so with the Essex Bloggers community spread across the entire County, choosing a location can be a bit of a headache as it needs to be fairly easily accessible for everyone. We’ve met up before in Romford, Chelmsford, Brentwood and Loughton, and we try to adjust it each time so nobody feels they’re being left out. However, once we’ve chosen a town to meet in, we then need to find a venue.
Essex is so well served when it comes to socialising, with a plethora of restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs, as well as halls, rooms and buildings you can hire, it can be just as hard trying to whittle down the available choices as it is to decide on a location in the first place!
Step in Venuefinder, a website that essentially works as a search engine for venues you can hire. Enter your criteria into their search form – location, required capacity etc – and it searches it’s databases to find suitable matches.
When I ran a search for Essex, 94 potential venues came up for me to choose from, and with additional tools like 360° virtual tours, you can scope the possible choices from the comfort of your own home.
As and when I finally find the time to arrange this meet up I’ll definitely be using the Venuefinder website to create a shortlist of possible locations to hold it.
