So, as you’ve clicked on the ‘About’ page, I guess you want to know a little more about the girl behind blog?
My name’s Penny, I’m 32 years old and I live with my boyfriend (Ben) and our chaotic pack of furballs (two cats and a dog) in a our cosy (read: small) rented house in Essex.
By day I work as an Office Manager in London, and my evenings and weekends are dedicated to fun, frolics and generally enjoying myself (whether going out on the town, travelling to new places, or just binge-watching a boxset on the TV whilst snuggled under a blanket on the sofa).
I’ve been blogging a few years now, dipping it and out of it during my teens, before starting to spend more time on it once I was into my 20’s and wanted to document my journey through the minefield that is dating (Buzzfeed featured me on their list of “22 Horrendous Break-Up Stories” so that tells you how well it was going for me back then!)
With the various transitions of my life, A Penny For Them shifted focus too and is definitely happily bedded down into the ‘lifestyle’ category these days, as I share my everyday happenings, milestones and events.
Although I do get to do some exciting things because of this blog, first and foremost it is somewhere for me to store my memories so that when I’m old and grey I can look back and relive moments that might otherwise have been lost to time. I also think it’s pretty awesome that future generations will be able to visit here one day and get to know us in my own words and pictures, rather than just from the stories passed down to them.
One thing I can promise you, without exception, is openness and honesty on this blog. I write about the highs and lows, the good days and the bad – I don’t want to paint my life as being an Instagrammable picture of perfection as that would be be unfair. Whose life is perfect after all?
I do, from time to time, get the chance to review products, venues or events with you and, when I do, these will be written with the same level of honesty, always. If I like something, I’ll shout it from the rooftops; if I don’t, I’ll tell you that too.
So, take a look around, make yourself at home and feel free to drop me a line – I’m always up for a good chat!
