GIVEAWAY: Win Goodies For Your Pet With IAMS

If you ever asked people to define me, I think one of the first things they would ever say is that I love animals. I’ve always been the same since I was a little girl and any opportunity to interact with a critter is one that I’ll grab with both hands.

Eye contact with a dog in the street? All over it.
Watch a squirrel digging a little hole to hide it’s winter supplies? I love it.
Stroke a random cat in the street and wonder if it wants to come home with me? YESSSSSS.

I think this part of my personality is definitely down to the way I was brought up – we always had pets as without them our home would feel empty, and my parents would go as far as to wake us up and get us out of bed in the night to watch hedgehogs pottering around the garden, or to sit under blankets looking up at bats flitting around in the night sky.

When it comes to my own pets, I love them unashamedly. Every single day I commute home with a bubbling excitement about seeing them. As I walk in the door, all three of them are stood there waiting to greet me, with the dog’s tail wagging so frantically I fear it might fall off, and the cats meowing and pushing their little furry heads against me.

For me, there is no other love like it. (Sorry Ben!)

One of the important things for me, when it comes to my pets, is making sure that they are healthy and well cared for at all times. I keep them topped up with their treatments and keep their claws trimmed (although Poppy managed to tear one of her claws out last week and had to have an operation to remove it, cue heartbreak for me and a million cuddles for her!) As well as this, I also make sure to feed them good quality food – it’s surprising how many pet food brands out there are essentially junk food, so it pays to do a bit of research before you buy anything.

A Penny For Them Blog
Sad little puppy with her bandage.

IAMS are one of the good guys when it comes to animal feed and their Proactive Health (which is available for dogs and cats) has chicken and turkey as its main ingredient; meaning your pet is getting high quality animal protein in to their diet which aids in building strong muscles and keeping their skin and coats healthy. In fact, it offers dogs 24% and cats 47% more protein than the top two leading brands currently do – that’s pretty significant!

Although I don’t feed Poppy IAMS as she has to have a specific diet, my cats both love their biscuits and make it known when the bowl is empty as they stand directly in front of us and scream! They literally go mad whenever I refill the bowl, even if they’ve already got some wet food, and it feels good to know that not only am I feeding them something they enjoy, but that it is going to be doing their health good as well.

Whether you’re a fan of IAMS and have fed it to your pets in the past, or you’ve never tried it and want to see whether your furry friend likes it, I’ve got a little giveaway for you today!

1 bag of IAMS Proactive Health (for either cats or dogs)
3 bags of IAM Minis for dogs/IAMS Delight for cats

All you have to do is enter via the form below – the winner will be chosen at random on Saturday 7th October and I will make contact shortly afterwards.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Winners have 48-hours to respond, after which another winner will be chosen. Sorry, but this is a UK only giveaway.

Also, a little snippet of info for anyone who loves looking at animals, IAMS have Instagram account where they share photos of people’s pets that are submitted to them. You can have a peek at other people’s little bundles of fur, or you can tag them in your own photo of your pet and you might get featured! Visit them at @IAMS_UK1.

Good luck to everyone who enters!

Our dog is called Peanuts (in my profile pic) – he’s named after the Charlie Brown comics. We would have called him Snoopy but he’s a Bichon Frise not a Beagle…so that was out 😉 His funniest trait is him talking all the time…he doesn’t bark..he just sits in front of you and sort of murmurs and whimpers until you do exactly what he wants. x

Since having his nuts chopped off, he’s become my second shadow; wants to be into everything I’m doing and everything is a game, he’s very playful. He’s also a good hunter, unfortunately ………

The top pic of your dog looks identical to one of mine. I have two male staffies, Leyland and Alfie- one bouncy and boisterous, the other genuinely seems to think he is a human baby. They insist on sitting on my lap at every opportunity. When we go to the vet’s, everyone else has dogs sitting patiently on the floor, where dogs are meant to sit. Not mine- they sit on my lap, panting excitedly.

Hendrix loves falling asleep in the weirdest positions and can’t go anywhere in the house without dragging his teddy bear with him. Morticia – an older black rescue kitty – also known as the one fang wonder – she lost a fang when she was younger by trying to bite through my gerbils cage!
LeoCat – a middle aged bengal rescue kitty – is fur changes colour depending on the time of year (as he switches form his summer to winter coat) so sometimes he looks grey and other times hes looks orange! He’s massive and weighs like 10gs
Houdeni – a middle aged black rescue kitty – Dena is part feral and doesnt really like people – I’m the only one who can pick her up but she does like my dad when he visits – possibly because he feeds her chicken a lot!
LadyCat – the youngest and smallest of our cats – also a rescue kitty – she has CH which is a bit like human cerebral palsy – it doesnt hold her back though! She is full grown but only weighs around 2kgs and shes a little bit wobbly on her feet and doesnt so much as jump as bunny hop

Jac – a jack russel x shihtzu dog we rescued – he loves to sit on his butt in the begging position and he stays in that position for hours – he likes to sit like that on the window sill watching the world go by

Emi & Morfa – these guys are about 3 years old and they are corn snakes – they get cranky if we seperate them for any reason which is unusual as snakes are not social animals
